
The Nature Management Higher Certificate studies, is a one year programme designed to equip students
with knowledge of and competence in the field of Nature Management. Students are trained to be knowledgeable, capable field guides and management assistants. Students will contribute to the economic potential of our country’s natural resources and wildlife in a responsible, sustainable manner.
We aim to produce well rounded, trained individuals who can make a positive contribution to society. After successful completion of the Nature Management Higher Certificate, students will be able to independently carry out essential tasks, make decisions and solve problems in the fields of game farm management, conservation management, nature reserve management and in the management of natural areas.
Individuals who:
NSC (Gr 12) with entrance to Higher Certificate studies or National Certificate (Vocational) with the minimum requirements for entrance to Higher Certificate studies, as specified by UMALUSI (40% in language of instruction)
Entry into Diploma studies in Nature Management (60% average in HC & selection interview)
Experience based learning (WIL) of 7 months towards entry to Diploma Nature Management
