The Higher Certificate Administration comprises of 6 one year subjects of 20 credits each and includes practical as well as experiential learning components. The duration is designed to cover 30 weeks of learning which includes assessments and contact sessions. There are 3 core subjects which are compulsory and students must select 3 electives from the options available. Assessments, practical and experiential learning are compulsory.
National Senior Certificate (Gr 12) or equivalent qualification with admission to Higher Certificate studies or a National Certificate (Vocational) with the minimum requirements for entrance to Higher Certificate studies, as specified by Umalusi. A person aged 23 or older with work experience will also qualify for admission.
Experiential learning is critical to teaching and learning and is an important and integral part of your formal training. You need to complete an experiential learning of 100 hours during the course of the programme. You are required to complete a logbook and provide CA with documentation as evidence of the completion of the 100 hours.
