More About Hairdressing

The Hairdressing programme will prepare students for a lifelong career in the hairdressing industry. They will be provided with the essential skills necessary to function as flexible, adaptable and competitive hairdressers rendering services of excellence. Students will also learn to interpret and adapt in a meaningful way to the salon practices and social environment, so that they will become independent practitioners, who will not just follow rules, but who will respond creatively to new and unfamiliar situations.

  • Level 2 - SAQA ID 65750 (131 credits)
  • Level 3 - SAQA ID 65749 (122 credits)
  • Level 4 - SAQA ID 65729 (149 credits)

Entrance Requirements

National Senior Certificate  (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification with admission to diploma studies.

OR

Gr 9 or 16 years of age vocational.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL)

Full-time Programme: 18 months formal hours at the Centurion Academy, and 18 months informal hours under the supervision of a qualified hairdresser, with a SOuth African Qualification "Red Seal".

Learnership: One day per week at CA and full time learnership at a salon (3 years). Compulsary experiential learning under the supervision of a qualified hairdresser, with a South African Qualification "Red Seal".
